B Sweet was created to bring back the homemade taste in cakes, cookies, pies and many other pastries. This young company has an unmatched level of quality in its products, and it clearly shows not only through its presentation but also in its taste.
Individual handwork and attention to detail enables B Sweet to produce fresher and more authentic flavors then pastries produced in larger corporate kitchens. Using the highest quality ingredients such as fresh fruits purchased from the local farmer’s market make up its “yummy factor”.
Our dedication to quality and customer satisfaction is incomparable to those larger companies. If your palette is craving mouth watering and heartwarming baked goods, B Sweet offers the best selection available.

ABOUT CHEF BARB

Chef Barb Batiste is the founder and owner of B Sweet and Big Boi Filipino, two Los Angeles favorites that bring together her love for homemade comfort food and her deep Filipino roots.
Raised in a close-knit Filipino family, Barb’s passion for cooking began early—helping her mother prepare elaborate spreads of food and desserts for weekend gatherings that filled their home with laughter and love. Those early experiences shaped her belief that food is one of the greatest ways to connect people.
Barb began her professional pastry career in 1993 at the Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel, working alongside the Executive Pastry Chef to craft fine desserts. After serving as head pastry chef for an LA art gallery and refining her craft, she launched her own catering company.
In 2009, she founded B Sweet, starting with her famous Chocolate Chip Banana Bread made right in her home kitchen. As demand grew, Barb moved into a commercial kitchen and began catering to a loyal roster of clients, including Disney, Nike, Google, Hulu, Sony, and some of Hollywood’s most recognized studios. Since 2017, she has also catered for professional sports leagues including the MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL, and MLS, and has proudly fed players and staff at three World Series and a Super Bowl.
The success of B Sweet led to B Sweet Mobile in 2012—two of Los Angeles’ most charming dessert trucks serving a rotating menu of nostalgic favorites across Southern California. In 2014, Barb opened B Sweet Dessert Bar in West LA’s bustling Sawtelle Japantown, featuring over 50 rotating bread pudding flavors and classic baked goods. It quickly became a local institution and a must-visit for anyone with a sweet tooth.
In 2018, Barb expanded her culinary vision with Big Boi Filipino, LA’s first fast-casual Filipino restaurant, located just a few doors down from B Sweet. Named in loving memory of her late father, “Boi,” the restaurant offers a modern, lighter take on traditional Filipino comfort dishes—introducing a new audience to the bold, soulful flavors of the Philippines.
A self-taught chef, Barb continues to honor her family’s traditions and “handmade like grandma used to” philosophy. She still works from her handwritten recipes and, alongside her devoted team, creates new dishes daily that blend nostalgia, heart, and innovation.
